Where It All Started
The Visionary Journey Begins
Welcome to the exquisite world of Jamilah Jewellery, where the allure of premium pearls from around the globe meets the vision and tenacity of its founder, Catherine Samuel @ Jamilah Abdullah. Born on May 4, 1966, in Papar, Sabah, Jamilah is a dynamic entrepreneur of Sino Kadazan Mualaf descent, who embarked on her entrepreneurial journey at the tender age of 18.
Jamilah, the fourth child out of seven siblings, was the only daughter in her family. Growing up in a humble village, her parents, dedicated farmers, toiled tirelessly to provide for their large family. They supplemented their income by selling vegetables at the local market, a testament to their unwavering determination to make ends meet.
A Modest Beginning
In 1993, armed with a modest capital of RM800 and an unwavering passion for pearls, Jamilah founded Jamilah Jewellery. From the outset, her focus was clear—to curate and showcase the finest pearls sourced from pearl farms spanning the South Seas to the pristine waters of Tahiti, from the Japanese Akoya oysters to the enchanting depths of freshwater and seawater pearl beds. Today, the collection boasts a mesmerizing array of South Sea pearls, Tahitian pearls, Akoya pearls, freshwater pearls, seawater pearls, Edison pearls, Baroque pearls, cultured pearls, and Mabe pearls.
Jamilah’s dedication and keen eye for quality soon transformed Jamilah Jewellery into a beacon of elegance and sophistication. As the business flourished, Jamilah expanded her entrepreneurial horizons, venturing into other realms such as furniture, DIY, and handicrafts.

Today, she oversees a conglomerate of successful enterprises, with six strategically located business outlets.
